It won't be the winter from hell forever ….
Not to mention tires are expensive, so I prefer to slide when there is little traction. #IShouldGetABRZ

I hate you. I hate everyone that has fun in the snow this winter. I'm going to see so much snow tomorrow, and I don't have a FUCKING CAR to have fun in. AAAARRRRGHHHHH!!11!!!!1!!!

I've enjoyed it the last 3 months. I want to enjoy warm weather where I can work in the garage on my car without freezing my testicles off.

Hey there lil Merc...Chrysler.

Sounds like you need a beater. Maybe I'll check CL for you while I'm enjoying some Quattro hoonage

I rode shotgun in an FR-S with my best friend for a rallycross on saturday. It was fun until he went on two wheels in a right hander......so I sorta landed on one of the boys. He laughed so hard he spun out about two corners later. I have declared war on his FR-S and am looking at really damn good snow tires for my fiesta to do battle with him next winter.

I'd love to buy a used car (that I can easily afford) but my father won't let me buy used. Long story.

That will never get old. Do it for every post. Not just snow related ones.

Lol, you weren't already aware of my hoonage last week?
![]() 02/17/2014 at 23:00 |

That sucks, but you could always just get a really shitty car for a couple of hundred dollars just for hoonage

Projects can wait until summer … for now and with every snow fall ….
DRIFT.

I know, I really want to. I can't physically get to a car because I'm in college and have no way to get to where any cars are for sale.
![]() 02/17/2014 at 23:03 |

Haha awesome story …. reminds me that I really need to autocross this summer.
But random question, how fast is your Fiesta to 60? Just curious because in my head, that and the FRS have to be close.

Move to the top of hill, drift down hill, make tracks in snow for the return trip uphill.

Heh, I just wimped out and waited for it to melt. Wet is still easier on the tires than dry.

Go GTA style and steal a car to get there. Then you'll have two cars!

Thanks for saying it in that order …. thats how I feel about it.

Flawless plan! Leaving now to steal a car outside.

Ohh I am aware …. but its still pretty. I've been an Audi fanboy for a while. #QuattroIsBest

The ST will do 0-60 in the high 6 to 7.0 second range. The FR-S does it in the low to mid 6 second range with stock tires on. My fiesta hasn't come in yet. I'm a special snowflake and demanded one be built to my specifications. No painted wheels, no nav, smoke gray recaros, moonroof, and blue paint. Of course, the paint is temporary as in a year or two I want to vinyl wrap it like one of the focus WRC cars with the martini livery but with "Ford Fiesta" where it says "Ford Focus" and some different sponsors on it.
![]() 02/17/2014 at 23:14 |

On the topic of your awesome videos, did you get any paint damage from dirt road drifting?
I wanted to go back out to the woods last summer for a drift day, but this is my first nice car …. and I want to keep it that way. Just curious.

I plowed the streets, something the city can't manage.

Dope & please do it. That is one thing I don't like about the Crossfire … there is just no way to have it be a rally car, wouldn't look right.
Make your friends do their cars too & upload pics.
![]() 02/17/2014 at 23:27 |

Nah, not really. I mean, there was probably some micro scratching, but no chips or anything. I think if you pre drive your intended course looking for rocks and big bumps, you should be fine. Dirt texture is probably pretty important too.
I was actually more worried about the video above, there were some nasty potholes in that parking lot that have formed since my last visit.
Thanks for the compliment btw!

Ha, they'll get there … eventually.
(nice car btw)

I'm trying to convince my friend with the FR-S to do this to his.

Thanks for the info …. this is from 2 years ago so assuming its still like this I'll give it another shot this summer.

I doubt it, they're pretty bad it here. I secretly have a thing for crossfires with the spoiler out, I think they look pretty sleek, but thanks.

I6 I believe …. I had a couple of older jeeps too. Drift city.

It's even more fun in 4WD :-)
Love doing donuts in the XJ Cherokee.

This is not the winter from hell for us. I think we only have 70" or so of snow.
Last year... that was one of the winter's from hell. Over 100" and half of that came in 2 storms.
That said... you better believe I've been having fun :-)
![]() 02/18/2014 at 12:02 |

Nice Cherokee, but I'm curious, where is it actually snowing less this year? You don't hear about that on the news.
![]() 02/18/2014 at 13:37 |

4WD on ours still has a rearward bias so you can still drift just by giving it throttle.
![]() 02/18/2014 at 17:44 |

Worcester, MA. I think we have 70" of snow right now, last year around this time we had 100"
Last year, for awhile, we were beating Buffalo or Rochester NY (can't remember which) for snowiest city in the country. They eventually won by like 2-3" inches
![]() 02/18/2014 at 17:55 |
|
Damn, Detroit is right around 80" right now ….. but its the 2nd snowiest year EVER, and the all time record is 92".
Essentially I'm saying fuck 100+" of snow, I'm sorry for last winter.

Until a few weeks ago, this felt like a well below average winter.
Now, it just seems like a normal amount.
I've apparently been completely fucked in the head by living in New England my whole life :-)

Id Imagine thats almost as frustrating as having a father who will let you buy a used car, but only one used car, that happens to be:
A) Hard/impossible to find
B) Ridiculously bad value
The only saving grace is I quite like the car my father has elected for me (to buy with my own money):
A grey 5 speed lexus is300 with less than 150000 km.
Unfortunately, for the same money, I could get into a faster, better handling, 5 years newer, almost as good looking, G35.
Seriously, 2002 lexus vs 2008 infinity - same bloody money, plus no timing belts in the Infiniti, reliability of a 7 year old car vs a 13 year old car.... I cant even explain my frustration.

I think Crossfires are the bargain of the decade. Are they reliable? I think they might be able to handle daily driving. Am I totally right, or?

Mine is handling DDing pretty damn well. 132,000 miles on it now. The only real problem is the ignition with these cars, you have to make sure its not "sticky" or it will end up costing you a grand. Besides that though without a doubt I'd recommend one.
